Bevill State Community College is now using Canvas for its Learning Management System.
Delivering information to our students to keep them up-to-date on college news and events is important to us. We are calling the service the Bevill State Bear Growl system. Students will receive news and info through the use of Growls– voice messages delivered to phones, text messages sent to cell phones, and emails. The first introductory growl will be going out to students later this week.
The Growls can keep students informed about Pell check disbursement, registration dates, graduation information, and other news items. It will not inform students about emergencies, security issues, or weather-related closings. The College will continue to use the Bear Alert system for all emergency based communication.
The BSCC App can be downloaded from both the Apple Store and Google Play. Some of the apps features include a college activity calendar; direct access to registration information, class details and student email; maps of the College’s campuses; links to Bevill State’s social media; and access to an employee directory.
Microsoft and Bevill State has joined together to offer our students access to Office 365 for free! Office 365 is a collection of services that allows you to collaborate and share your schoolwork. The service includes Office Online (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote), 1TB of OneDrive storage, Yammer, and SharePoint sites.
