BEVILL STATE TO USE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN FUNDS TO HELP STUDENTS

Bevill State Community College plans to use American Rescue Plan, or Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III), funds to assist students that enroll for the 2022 Spring Semester. Degree-seeking students enrolled in credit classes for Bevill State’s 2022 Spring Semester before the end of Late Registration on January 10, 2022, could receive up to $1,200. Eligible students will receive notification and disbursement details after January 28, 2022.

“We are pleased to be able to once again provide this opportunity for students enrolling at Bevill State Community College for the 2022 Spring Semester. COVID-19 is still impacting everyone. The College wants to do what it can to prevent students from having to put their education and future on hold because of this. These funds will give students the resources necessary to start, continue, or return to school. The faculty and staff of Bevill State look forward to seeing students on our campuses and online this spring,” stated Bevill State President, Dr. Joel Hagood.

These federal funds are provided by the United States Department of Education to ensure learning continues during the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds should be used for any component of the student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care), or childcare.

How to enter the Bevill State Community College #BSCCStoryChallenge TikTok Contest to win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet:

• Entrants must FOLLOW the @bevillstate TikTok account and LIKE the video post announcing the contest.
• Entrants must be a current Bevill State Community College student (includes Dual Enrollment) or be registered to attend the BSCC 2022 Spring Semester.
• Must post an original video, no animation or slides, to TikTok using the hashtag #BSCCStoryChallenge telling your Bevill State story. One entry per TikTok account.
• Contest dates are Monday, November 29, 2021, through Thursday, January 6, 2022. Video must be posted between these dates using #BSCCStoryChallenge.
• The winner will be selected from all eligible entries by using random selection software on Monday, January 10, 2022.
