Bevill State offers numerous institutional scholarships including academic, leadership/service, and performing arts. A brief description of each scholarship offered at Bevill State, the award amount, and the criteria for the selection and retention of the scholarship are listed below.
Scholarships are based on criteria such as academic merit, extracurricular activity participation, prior career technical training, and leadership ability. Awards are made on a competitive basis and meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee a scholarship. Scholarships are awarded for one year. Students may be eligible for the renewal of their scholarship for the second year based on their cumulative GPA. Students will not be eligible to receive an institutional scholarship for more than two consecutive years. Award recipients may not exceed 57 semester hours for an academic year. Applicant must be a high school graduate during the 2022-2023 academic year from a regionally accredited high school, with a minimum 3.75 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and a minimum ACT score of 28. The award covers tuition and applicable fees up to 16 hours per semester for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The recipient must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) during the fall and spring semesters while attending Bevill State and maintain a 3.00 cumulative GPA. Recipients who choose to attend the summer semester must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours). All scholarship applicants meeting the minimum criteria for the scholarship will be awarded.
Applicant must be a high school graduate during the 2022-2023 academic year with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and a minimum ACT score of 24. The recipient may be awarded $3,000 per year ($1,500 per term) for the fall and spring semesters. The recipient must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) while attending Bevill State and maintain a 3.00 cumulative GPA. The award may be applied toward tuition and applicable fees.
Applicant must be a high school graduate during the 2022-2023 academic year with at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and a minimum ACT score of 20. The recipient may be awarded $2,000 per year ($1,000 per term) for the fall and spring semesters. The recipient must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) while attending Bevill State and maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA. The award may be applied toward tuition and applicable fees.
Applicant must be a high school graduate during the 2022-2023 academic year with at least a 2.50 cumulative GPA. Applicant must meet program requirements. In addition, applicant must exhibit interest and/or experience in the career technical education/training field. The recipient may be awarded $3,000 per year ($1,000 per term) for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The recipient must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) during the fall and spring semesters while attending Bevill State and maintain a 2.50 cumulative GPA. Recipients who choose to attend the summer semester must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) with the award amount based on enrollment status. The award may be applied toward tuition and applicable fees.
Applicant must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student or a graduating dual enrollment student during the Spring semester with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours (non-developmental hours) at BSCC and no more than 45 credit hours to be eligible for this scholarship. The recipient may be awarded $3,000 per year ($1,000 per term) for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The recipient must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) during the fall and spring semesters while attending Bevill State and maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA. Recipients who choose to attend the summer semester must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) with the award amount based on enrollment status. The award may be applied toward tuition and applicable fees. This is a one-year award only and is not renewable. This award is based on availability. This award may not be combined with any other institutional scholarship award. Applicants must have a current FAFSA on file at Bevill State.
These scholarships are awarded based on the students’ participation in clubs, organizations and extra-curricular activities. In addition to maintaining a specified cumulative grade point average, selected recipients must perform service activities for the College as specified in the respective scholarship categories’ guidelines/constitutions.
Applicant must be a high school graduate with at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA (or a minimum 2.75 Bevill State GPA for currently enrolled degree seeking students) and a minimum ACT score of 19. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must also include an essay. The essay should be no more than 500 words, and cover the topic, Describe what being a BSCC Ambassador means to you. Applicants will be considered for Ambassador at all Bevill State campuses; however, only one interview per applicant will be conducted on the indicated preferred campus.
Ambassadors serve as the College’s official host and hostesses. Recipients must attend as full-time students (12 credit hours in the fall & spring semesters), maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA and abide by the Ambassador policies and procedures. Recipients who choose to attend the summer semester must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours). The award covers tuition and applicable fees up to 19 hours per semester for the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Applicant must be a high school graduate with at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA, or a currently enrolled degree seeking Bevill State student with a 2.75 minimum GPA. Consideration is given to applicants who were actively involved in their high school Scholars’ Bowl Team. Selected recipients must attend Bevill State as a full-time student (12 credit hours) and abide by the Scholars’ Bowl guidelines. Recipients are required to maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA. The award is $2,000 per year ($1,000 per term). The award is for the fall and spring semesters. The award may be applied toward tuition and applicable fees.
Applicant must be a high school graduate with at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA, or a currently enrolled degree seeking Bevill State student with a 2.75 minimum GPA. Recipient must be a full-time student (12 credit hours), maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA, and follow performing arts guidelines. The award is $2,000 per year ($1,000 per term). The award is for the fall and spring semesters. The award may be applied toward tuition and applicable fees.
Applicable fees include: bond reserve, building, library, facilities renewal, technology, and ACCS enhancement fees only.
