Incoming Freshmen or returning Sophomores may apply for Bevill State Foundation scholarships by completing the general Bevill State Community College Scholarship Application. The deadline for applications each year is traditionally around the first of February. Be sure to check with the College for the current deadline.

The Bevill State Foundation, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization incorporated under a tax exempt 501(c)(3) status. This foundation was established to seek and secure resources beyond state and local revenues for the purpose of supporting educational scholarships, programs, and other needs of Bevill State Community College. Gifts to the foundation support and build educational opportunities for individuals who attend the Fayette Campus or Pickens County Educational Center. All gifts are tax deductible.
The Walker College Foundation, Inc. is a self- financed, non-profit organization operated for the benefit of Bevill State Community College. The mission of the Foundation is to support the College by providing scholarships and by enhancing the educational programs and activities offered on the Walker College Campus of Bevill State. The Foundation is qualified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts to the Foundation qualify as full charitable gift contributions. The Foundation is structurally separate from Bevill Sate and is governed by a local Board of Trustees. Assets of the Foundation are kept separate from public funds, will be invested in a prudent manner, and will be applied as directed by the donor.
The traditional method of making a contribution to the foundation is through memorials, honorariums and annual gifts. The foundation recognizes memorial and honorarium gifts by sending a note to the family of the person being remembered or honored. These methods of making a contribution, however, are not the only forms of giving accepted. Other giving options include:
One of the most common and simple forms of planned giving is a bequest. A bequest is a gift of property that is made through a donor’s will. The bequest is free of estate tax.
Gift annuities allow a person to make a tax deductible gift and receive a fixed income for life. They can be
created with gifts of relatively modest amounts.
An endowed scholarship allows an individual/business to establish a scholarship that will last in perpetuity. The corpus of the endowment is secure and only the interest is used to make the scholarship award.
