Bevill State Community College (BSCC) signed Fayette County High School (FCHS) baseball player Brandon Rickman on Monday, December 5, at a signing ceremony held in the FCHS library. Friends, family and classmates of the senior were all smiles as Rickman signed a commitment to play for BSCC baseball coach Joey May. “It was my childhood dream to play college baseball. I’m ready to play,” Rickman said.
Coach May said of Rickman’s commitment, “Brandon was the first young man that verbally committed to me. We’re really excited to have Brandon as part of our team. We’re looking forward to getting him over and starting work with him.” Rickman will most likely fill an infield defensive spot. “He’s versatile, so he can do a lot of things defensively. He’s also an absolutely fantastic hitter,” May said. Additionally, Coach May mentions other characteristics of the player excite him. “He has phenomenal character. He’s got great family, so I know he’s going to work hard. He’s had to return from two major surgeries, and that’s really difficult to do. Just the character that that takes and the leadership he’s bringing is something we’re really excited about.”
Brandon Rickman was selected twice for All-County, has lettered in football for three years, maintains a 3.82 GPA, and is a member of the National Honor Society. His baseball stats are impressive as well:

2015 American Legion: .471 ave 26 RBI 22 RS 1 HR
