Bevill State Hosts 2024 BEVILL MAP: Making A Path Event

On Friday, April 5, 2024, Bevill State Community College hosted the second Bevill MAP: Making A Path event for high schools in the area. Bevill MAP: Making A Path was held on the Bevill State Fayette Campus located at 2631 Temple Avenue N., Fayette, Alabama from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The event was attended by over 500 students from Fayette County Schools, Lamar County Schools, Pickens County Schools, Pickens Academy, and Winfield High School. The students participated in hands-on activities with local businesses and industries.

"Bevill MAP presents an excellent opportunity for high school students within Bevill State Fayette Campus's reach to engage in a dynamic and enriching exploration of potential career paths. Through this program, students can forge their own paths toward future success by connecting with high-demand programs offered at Bevill State that align with local job opportunities. We want these bright young minds to build their futures in our communities,” commented Dr. Joel Hagood, President of Bevill State Community College. “We are appreciative to Lavender, Inc. and all of the businesses that partnered with Bevill State to help make this event possible.”

Bevill MAP: Making A Path is an exciting, interactive workforce development outreach event, designed to engage students in real-world simulations of high-demand career paths in our workforce region. This allows event attendees to learn how to Make A Path for the future by connecting Bevill State Community College education and training programs with real careers located right where they live. Offered at no cost to students served by the Fayette Campus of Bevill State Community College, this event brings together post-secondary education with business and industry as part of a comprehensive effort to assist students in developing meaningful career knowledge and an empowered mindset.
