Bevill State Community College (BSCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Jones as Dean of Finance for Bevill State Community College. Ms. Jones brings sixteen years of experience in accounting roles to Bevill.
Linda Jones earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Collat School of Business. She filled accounting roles for the American Cancer Society, Jefferson County Commission, and Protective Life Corporation before beginning her career in higher education. Linda worked at Miles College and Jefferson State Community College prior to becoming the Assistant Director of Fiscal Services for the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) in Montgomery, Alabama.
Dr. Kim Ennis, BSCC President, stated, "We are extremely excited that Linda has joined Bevill State. She brings with her incredible accounting experience in both the public and private sectors. She will be an asset to this institution as we continue our efforts to streamline the budget and create greater efficiency."
Linda Jones is a native of Alabama and committed to serving her community. She is on the board for the Montgomery affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and teaches a class called “Family to Family” (F2F) which works with family members to alleviate the stigma associated with mental illness. Jones speaks at Auburn Montgomery to police officers from all over the state who attend NAMI Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) and at various events to give information about NAMI. She also serves as a member of The Church of the Highlands prison ministry among other ministries, providing church services to 19 correctional facilities in the state of Alabama.
Ms. Jones attended Dora High School and Bevill State Community College. When asked about her new role, she noted, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to return home in this role. The more I learn about the good work at Bevill, its partnerships with the community, and the commitment of each employee here to the success of our students, the prouder I am to be an ambassador for the College. With the help of our internal leadership and external partners, I am convinced that we will achieve great things together.”
