Students seeking immediate employment in the field of computer science would likely choose the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Computer Science or the short-term certificate program of study. The AAS program is a two-year career program consisting of general education and computer science courses and is designed to allow graduates to move directly into the workforce in their field of study. The Short-Term Certificate programs are designed for students with basic computer skills who wish to enhance and update their existing competencies.

Preparing for Your Future

The Computer Science Department uses a number of software applications in its computer labs including MS-Office Suite 2007 Professional, Corel Office Suite, Visual Studios, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, MathCad, Key Training, PassKeys Student Tracking, Integrated Accounting for Payroll 2002, and Glencoe Keyboarding. Bevill State offers certifications in Information Technology, A+, MOUS, and CISCO.
